Accounting Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented staff accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who takes full ownership of their work, communicates directly with clients, and can independently manage files from start to finish.

This position involves managing engagement work from planning through completion with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage competing deadlines and balance multiple engagements.

The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and 2-4 years of experience in Canadian public accounting. They will also have a CPA designation in progress or newly earned, and proficiency with iFirm, CaseWare/CaseView, and Microsoft 365.

The selected candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships, participating in planning meetings, and contributing to engagement strategy with input from senior team members.

They will also prepare compiled financial statements, note disclosures where applicable, and corporate tax returns, as well as monitor deadlines for tax filings, bank reporting, and other key deliverables.

In addition, the successful candidate will assist with client-side cash flow projections and budget-to-actual analysis, present data clearly using Excel, Word, and iFirm, and manage multiple projects and engagement timelines simultaneously.

Responsibilities include taking full ownership of assigned files, managing engagement work from planning through completion, building and maintaining strong client relationships, participating in planning meetings, and contributing to engagement strategy.

Requirements include a diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, 2-4 years of experience in Canadian public accounting, a CPA designation in progress or newly earned, and proficiency with iFirm, CaseWare/CaseView, and Microsoft 365.
