Job Description:

  • We are looking for a highly skilled OSP Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with outside plant in aerial, buried and/or underground facilities.
  • The successful candidate will work from home, Monday to Friday, 9 PM to 6 AM Manila time.

Responsibilities:

  • The OSP Design Engineer will receive field data collected, analyze local and wide area network systems, and provide fiber route design in accordance with customer specifications and guidelines.
  • They will read and understand road prints, utility maps, and as-builts to identify conflicts with existing facilities.
  • Collaboration with vendors, GIS, and CAD teams is essential to produce all required documentation for application packages.
  • The engineer will follow established procedures while adapting to changing standards and procedures without notice.
  • They will coordinate with the project team for forecasting, scheduling, resources management, and quality assurance.
  • Reviewing project deliverables for accuracy and apprising the project management team of risks, issues, and recommended mitigations is crucial.
  • Work with various managers to identify scope creep, manage change orders, and complete routine billing.
  • Maintain the integrity of the customer access network and support the deployment of access technologies.
  • Assist with as-built package completion and delivery, as well as billing closeout.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have sound OSP engineering experience deploying fiber optic and/or copper networks, with knowledge of engineering principles within OSP job-related functional areas.
  • Familiarity with fiber optic and/or copper counts, fiber assignments, and splicing schematics in all OSP environments is required.
  • Knowledge of engineering tools, including ARAMIS, IQGEO, NDS, OCALC, and AutoCAD, is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Adobe, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is necessary.
  • Strong communication and people skills are essential.
  • Effective language skills, both oral and written, are required.
  • A sense of urgency to meet deadlines and follow-up with customers are key qualities.
  • The ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels, from team members to executive management, is essential.
