Job Title

A Disaster Recovery Specialist is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of disaster recovery planning and testing in large complex organizations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in this field and be able to demonstrate knowledge of best practices and industry standards.

About the Role
  • This specialist will work with IT and Project Management colleagues and vendors to ensure that technical assets are resilient and systems are built with disaster recovery requirements embedded.
  • They will also guide and assist with the selection of appropriate disaster recovery solutions or high availability configurations in a 95% cloud-based model.
  • The specialist will consult squads on the proper development and documentation of plans, procedures and associated roles and responsibilities necessary to recover or prove resiliency for required business applications and services.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery strategies and plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and evaluate risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze and improve existing disaster recovery processes and procedures.
  • Provide expert consultation on disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on disaster recovery best practices.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Business or Finance preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
