A Data Protection Specialist is required to join our team at Monroe Consulting Group Philippines. We are working with a multinational technology company that develops precision power conversion, measurement and control technologies. As a Data Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for the configuration, monitoring, administration, and maintenance of the backup environment. This includes backup servers, storage, tape drives, cloud storage, network configuration, tapes, and clients.

The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge and expertise in backup solutions. They will configure backup solutions on requested servers, perform standard and test restores of requested files, folders, databases, and virtual machines. Additionally, they will manage backup media operations, including offsite storage, tape rotation, and handling. Disaster recovery tests will be conducted to ensure backup reliability. The candidate will also administer Windows and Unix operating systems, utilize scripting for automation and troubleshooting, and report department KPIs to top management.

Responsibilities
  • Possess deep knowledge and expertise in backup solutions.
  • Configure, monitor, administer, and maintain the backup environment.
  • Configure backup solutions on requested servers.
  • Perform standard and test restores of requested files, folders, databases, and virtual machines.
  • Manage backup media operations.
  • Conduct disaster recovery tests.
  • Administer Windows and Unix operating systems.
  • Utilize Bash, Shell, and/or PowerShell scripting.
  • Report department KPIs.
