Senior Accountant Job Description:

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounts payable operations and support general ledger functions.

The ideal candidate will oversee complex invoice processing, maintain vendor relationships, and mentor junior team members in financial management practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Invoice Management: Process and manage a high volume of invoices, ensuring accurate coding and approval in accordance with company policies.
  • Vendor Verification: Review and verify vendor invoices against contracts and receipts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Dispute Resolution: Handle complex invoice discrepancies and vendor payment issues, working directly with vendors and internal departments to resolve.
  • Payment Processing: Assist in the preparation of payment runs, ensuring all payments are processed on time and in line with vendor agreements.
  • Vendor Information: Maintain and update vendor information, ensuring accuracy of records in the accounts payable system.
  • Closing Processes: Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations for accounts payable.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure VAT, WHT, and income tax compliance in line with local regulations.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of AP policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy within the department.
  • Mentorship: Provide training and mentorship to junior accounts payable staff, ensuring they understand and adhere to AP processes and best practices.
  • AP Reports: Generate and analyze AP reports to monitor aging and cash flow. Assist with audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting evidence for AP-related inquiries.
