Backend Developer Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to play a key role in building and maintaining our MediaWiki platform services. As a senior full stack engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing back-end solutions that aggregate and process Liquipedia data for use in our Liquipedia App and by third-party clients through our non-commercial free API.

You will work on unique projects, partner with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the growth and success of esports and gaming.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient back-end solutions
  • Develop and maintain back-end systems that handle large volumes of data and API requests
  • Optimize back-end systems using caching services like Varnish and Memcached
  • Write clean and well-documented code following industry best practices
  • Refactor existing services for a sustainable future
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to find creative solutions as we build core parts of our infrastructure
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of back-end systems to identify and resolve any issues or bugs
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure continuous improvement and innovation
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience working with TypeScript / Node in a professional environment
  • Experience with data processing optimization, such as caching
  • Experience working with MariaDB and MongoDB
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
