Job Overview:

The EMEA Compliance Testing (ECT) team is a critical component of Northern Trust's Global Compliance Assurance Framework. Reporting to the EMEA Compliance Testing Regional Manager, this team conducts risk-based assessments to determine regulatory compliance across various business segments.

This role involves working closely with the EMEA Compliance Testing Regional Manager and partners to plan, execute, and report on specific reviews. The successful candidate will be responsible for independently planning and executing testing programs, identifying issues, and developing solutions to ensure effective communication of findings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and prioritize testing activities to ensure regulatory compliance, developing recommendations for improvement and implementing testing strategies
  • Conduct thorough testing reviews, documenting findings and recommending improvements to ensure effective compliance
  • Engage with Compliance Subject Matter Experts to understand matters related to applicable reviews, applying analytical skills to review information and identify potential weaknesses or exceptions
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit to coordinate testing efforts and share results, developing strong relationships with first, second, and third lines of defense

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in compliance, compliance testing/monitoring, or auditing
  • Educated to graduate level or equivalent
  • Knowledge of EU regulations and key regulatory developments an advantage
  • Highly motivated individual with a proven record of using initiative to resolve problems
  • Analytical ability to identify and understand problems, providing effective solutions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail
