Senior Data Analytics Specialist

Supports U.S. Customs and Border Protection as a key member of our data analytics team.

As a Senior Data Analytics Specialist, you will apply expert knowledge in statistical analysis, complex data mining, and artificial intelligence to make value out of data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply statistical methods and machine learning techniques to uncover insights from large datasets.
  • Design and implement data-driven solutions with a focus on advanced analytical methods and data models.
  • Develop predictive models to provide descriptive and predictive analytics solution recommendations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of emerging tools and techniques in machine learning and statistics.

Requirements:

Qualifications
  1. Six (6) years of experience in applied research, big data analytics, statistics, or related quantitative discipline.
  2. At least three (3) years of direct experience in machine learning.
  3. Advanced degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Operations Research, or related quantitative discipline.
  4. Demonstrates expertise in data mining methods, databases, data visualization, and machine learning.
  5. Ability to communicate complex analysis concepts and products effectively.
Preferred Experience and Skills
  1. Familiarity with cloud-based distributed database technologies.
  2. Proficient in PySpark and Python programming languages.
  3. Experience developing complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data.
  4. Knowledge of NLP concepts including preprocessing, TF-IDF, Named Entity Recognition, and LLMs.
