Job Description:

The primary function of this role is to perform a range of accounting tasks for clients, including processing tax returns, coordinating document collection, and bookkeeping.

Responsibilities include preparing tax returns, conducting research, reconciliations, and budgeting, as well as providing support with external bookkeeping, QuickBooks, and payroll.

Essential Functions:
  • Prepare tax returns, including personal and business tax returns, using firm templates and tools.
  • Contact clients for information or documents required to complete returns.
  • Conduct independent research on necessary laws prior to submitting returns to the reviewer.
  • Prepare tax projections and planning tasks for clients, including determining tax liability, salary requirements, and payroll liabilities.
  • Handle correspondences with IRS and state agencies, and perform tasks such as preparing payment plans, powers of attorney, and SS-4 forms.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance-related field.
  • Proficient in tax and accounting software/tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks, CCH Access/ProFX Tax, Intelliconnect Tax Research, Intelliforms, Tax Tools, CFS Payroll, Practice Management Time Entry, Accounting Research, PFX Tax Planning, Proseries Tax Planner.
  • Licensed as a certified public accountant is a plus.
  • Excellent grasp of all Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Aptitude in data management, analytics, and reporting preparation.
  • Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed.
