A Cardiovascular Technologist uses specialized medical equipment to create images and run tests on patients' hearts and lungs. This professional must be formally trained in both cardiac and vascular procedures to assess how well a patient's heart works at rest and during physical activity.

• Gather and analyze patient data and health profiles using electronic medical records.
• Provide instructions to patients regarding tests and procedures.
• Prepare examination rooms for patient examinations.
• Reassure and comfort anxious or fearful patients within the limits of your training.
• Protect patients, yourself, and others from contagious diseases by practicing proper isolation, sterile, and aseptic techniques.
• Explain the importance of recording or charting patient information.
• Interview patients' histories.

• Knowledge of the structure and anatomy of the human body, especially the cardiovascular system.
• Maintain patient records and add medical notes related to procedures.
• Maintain machines, including setup, storage, calibration, cleaning, and reporting issues to supervisors.
• Evaluate medical images for clarity and send best pictures to cardiologists.
