Android Software Engineer Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Android Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing high-quality Android applications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing new features and improving existing ones. They will work closely with the design team to create user-friendly interfaces and collaborate with other engineers to ensure seamless integration.

In this role, you will own major features, work on reliability metrics, review code, support teammates, handle critical issues, and take ownership of feature releases. You will also provide nightly builds for the QA team.

To succeed in this position, you should have 5+ years of software engineering experience, knowledge of Android components, experience building or contributing to Android apps, product design intuition, drive to improve UI/UX, understanding of tests, self-drive to improve the app and codebase, and expertise in Kotlin, Coroutines, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Jetpack Navigation, JUnit tests, and excellent communication skills.

This is a key role for someone who thinks strategically, enjoys fast-paced environments, and has experience building great user experiences that delight users.
