- Drug Information: Offer expert advice to patients and healthcare professionals on prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, and possible drug interactions.
- Monitoring Patient Health: Closely monitor patients for any adverse effects or medication reactions, and make adjustments to prescriptions in consultation with physicians when necessary.
- Education: A Doctor of Pharmacy (Ph.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school is required.
- Licensing: Pharmacists must be licensed in the country or state where they practice.
- Experience: Clinical experience through internships or residencies is often preferred, especially for those aiming to work in specialized pharmacy settings.
