Publishing Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled and organized Publishing Coordinator to join our team. As the founder's right-hand collaborator, you will play a crucial role in bringing creative ideas to life and ensuring the smooth development and promotion of our titles.

Job Description:

The Publishing Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating book creation, collaborating with illustrators and ghostwriters, and supporting the marketing and publishing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the development of children's books from concept to publication
  • Coordinate with illustrators, ghostwriters, and other freelancers
  • Monitor project timelines and ensure deadlines are met

Content Support:

  • Review and provide feedback on drafts
  • Organize and maintain book-related files and documentation

Publishing Support:

  • Research best practices for self-publishing platforms (e.g., Amazon KDP)
  • Assist in formatting and preparing manuscripts for publication
  • Keeptack of royalties, sales, and promotional results as needed

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year experience in publishing, editorial support, or project coordination in a creative field (children's publishing is a plus)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience collaborating with creatives such as illustrators and writers
  • A self-starter with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
  • Comfortable working independently in a startup environment

Nice-to-Have:

  • Knowledge of publishing platforms like KDP or IngramSpark
  • Experience with graphic design tools or basic book formatting
  • Background in marketing or social media promotion for creative products

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 7:00 pm PST // Remote
