Cloud Data Engineering Specialist

This role focuses on working with clients in the APAC region, contributing to our data practice establishment. You will design, build, and deploy cutting-edge data solutions while mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain large-scale data pipelines using cloud-based services like Azure Data Factory.
  • Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions.
  • Participate in solution design and technical discussions to ensure scalable and secure data workflows.
  • Implement performance-optimized and secure data workflows, ensuring compliance with governance and quality standards.
  • Document data assets, pipelines, and processes clearly and accurately.
  • Engage effectively with technical and non-technical team members to ensure shared understanding of requirements and delivery expectations.
  • Translate business and analytical requirements into technical solutions leveraging cloud services.
  • Monitor pipeline performance and address issues promptly.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of over 6 years in data engineering, warehousing, and analytics projects.
  • Strong knowledge of modern data file formats and cloud-based data transformation tools.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, Spark, and other relevant frameworks.
  • Expertise in data modelling across conceptual, logical, and physical layers.
  • Experience with cloud services, preferably within the Microsoft ecosystem, with exposure to AWS or GCP as an advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based services like Databricks and Snowflake.
  • Skilled in data pipeline orchestration using Azure Data Factory.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for automated deployment and integration workflows.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, security considerations, and database performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of design patterns and clean coding principles for scalable data solutions.
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies in data engineering.
