Barista Associate

We are seeking a skilled Barista to join our team at Lonely Owl Premier Cafe. As a key member of our cafe staff, you will play a crucial role in crafting high-quality beverages and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and Serve Beverages: Consistently prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, adhering to recipes and presentation standards.

Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and provide prompt and friendly service, answering customer questions about the menu and making recommendations.

Cash Handling: Process cash, credit card, and mobile payments accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system, ensuring proper cash handling procedures and balancing the cash register at the end of shifts.

Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the barista station, equipment, and seating areas clean and organized, following health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.

Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, informing the Cafe Manager when stocks are low and assisting in inventory control.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate coffee-making equipment, such as espresso machines and grinders, safely and efficiently, performing routine maintenance and cleaning as needed.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other cafe staff to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar role in the food and beverage industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, including espresso-based drinks.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and inventory.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new recipes and procedures.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
