Slitter Machine Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Slitter Machine Specialist to join our team at North Taal Steel Corp. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge machinery and contribute to the production of high-quality steel products.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining slitting machines in daily use. Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the quality of slitted coils meets production standards (width, length, thickness, etc.)
• Monitoring the quality of unslitted coils and reporting any defects to the assistant supervisor
• Coordinating with the crane operator to lift coils and place rolls on the reel
• Securing strips on the recoiler and adjusting guides roller tension
• Observing slitting and rewinding operations and examining cut strips for flatness edges and surface defects
• Performing die repairs, including changing roll form sections
• Double-checking rolls before and after blade changes
• Reporting maintenance or repair needs to the assistant supervisor

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

• A strong understanding of slitting machine operations and maintenance
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and reporting skills
