Senior Front-end Developer

We are looking for a highly skilled front-end developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in delivering high-quality front-end development with clean code, modern tooling, and best practices.

The role involves working closely with the lead developer, implementing complex builds and solving technical challenges as part of the team. You'll be responsible for translating designs and requirements into maintainable, performant code.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering work on time and reliably meeting project deadlines.
  • Being dependable and proactive in collaborating with the team.
  • Developing custom WordPress themes using ACF and modular CSS/JS.
  • Building custom Shopify themes and extending functionality as required.
  • Delivering React-based front-end builds including Gatsby for static and hybrid websites.
  • Applying advanced site optimisation techniques such as Core Web Vitals, caching, lazy loading, image optimisation, etc.
  • Ensuring accessibility, responsive behaviour, and SEO best practices are consistently applied.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS (Flexbox, Grid), and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Strong ability to hand-code solutions rather than rely heavily on plugins.
  • Advanced experience with custom WordPress theme development and Shopify builds.
  • Solid experience with React including building projects in Gatsby or similar.
  • Deep understanding of ACF and WordPress customisation best practices.
  • Proficient with CSS pre-processors like SCSS and building maintainable design systems.
  • Experience with JavaScript tooling (Webpack, Vite, Babel, npm/yarn).
  • Familiarity with Git workflows in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in integrating APIs and handling asynchronous data.
  • Skilled in optimising websites for speed, accessibility, and SEO.
