Beauty Editor

The Beauty Editor is a key role within our editorial team, responsible for overseeing the beauty section and creating compelling content across various multimedia formats.

This position will manage contributors, attend important events, produce shoots, and collaborate with the team on various editorial initiatives. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills, as well as strong editorial judgment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and create a compelling editorial content lineup for the beauty section
  • Pitch story ideas based on website data, editorial voice, and direction
  • Research and validate stories/photos/videos submitted to the site
  • Participate in weekly pitch meetings and collaborate with the editorial team
  • Oversee the performance of the beauty section through data analytics
  • Manage freelance writers and contributors under the beauty section
  • Promote articles and engagement posts on social media platforms
  • Strategize and spearhead initiatives to contribute to the beauty section's growth in pageviews, video views, and users
  • Assist the team in producing shoots, including monthly digital covers, videos, and features
  • Attend and represent the brand at important events
  • Collaborate with the revenue team as needed
  • Attend to breaking news relevant to the beauty section as needed
  • Build and maintain a database of industry contacts

Qualifications:

  • Graduated with a degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, or a related field
  • 4-5 years' experience working in the publishing and/or media industry
