Senior Android Engineer Position

This is a senior-level Android engineer role responsible for developing and maintaining our core product. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of software engineering experience, familiarity with Android components, and experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.

The successful candidate will own major features, work closely with the design team, and participate in discussions across different teams. They will also be responsible for reviewing pull requests, supporting teammates, and handling critical issues.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making product decisions, has excellent communication skills, and a user-oriented problem-solving approach. Experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, and Dagger 2 is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Owning major features and working closely with our design team
  • Shape the future of our Android team
  • Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key features
  • Participate in discussions across different teams
  • Review pull requests and support other teammates
  • Handle critical issues or cope with unexpected challenges
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Familiarity with Android components
  • Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app
  • Product design intuition and user empathy
  • Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX
  • Understanding of the importance of tests and how to approach writing tests
  • Self-drive to improve the app and codebase above and beyond what's outlined in the spec
