Test Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing and a passion for delivering high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design and develop manual and automation test tools, methodologies, scripts and execute end-to-end automation and manual test cases.
  • Track results and log defects.
  • Create test strategies, test plans and test scripts for both automated and manual testing.
  • Develop scalable and reliable automated tests and frameworks.
  • Contribute to implementing repeatable automated tests during sprints to ensure quality, reduce test execution time and incorporate automated tests into CI/CD processes.
  • Plan the labour needs of each sprint and product releases.
  • Work in a dedicated squad team and help drive product quality.
  • Ensure all assigned testing deliverables timelines are met within the sprint and product release.
  • Create and communicate test reports for stakeholders such as the principal engineer, product owner, scrum master and release management.
  • Liaise with business users, business analysts and engineers to ensure that any assigned defects are resolved.
  • Maintain awareness of external environments and trends in testing, in order to contribute to the improvement of processes and assets.
  • Promote productivity through test automation tools, methodologies and best practices.
  • Coach and train other team members on manual and automated testing.
  • Adapt new ways of working, find ways to continually improve and actively participate in squad events.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business, Economics or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of software testing experience.
  • At least 3 years of automation testing experience.
  • Experience in both manual and automated testing including planning, test case design, test reporting, defect tracking, estimating and test coverage.
  • Experience working with external parties and vendors.
  • Demonstrated capability to learn and understand a business and its processes and systems in depth.
  • Experience working with Selenium, Java, Maven and Postman.
  • Demonstrated skills with REST and SOAP webservices and API testing.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps Pipelines and parallel test execution.
  • Experience testing web, mobile and windows applications.
  • Ability to work across multiple products platforms squads.
