Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Career Development opportunity for a Senior COBOL Developer who will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale applications using COBOL programming language.

The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of experience in the use of COBOL and possess strong analytical and planning skills, as well as good communication and presentation skills.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing systems and program specifications;
  • Coordinating with users to design systems/programs;
  • Preparation of proposed layout of input/output requirements;
  • Coding/Developing new programs and maintaining/enhancing existing ones;
  • Conducting user training and assisting users during User Acceptance Test;
  • Preparation of Technical Documentation;
  • Assisting in preparation of hardware and software requirements;
  • Assisting in preparation of implementation plan (including conversion plans);
  • Assisting in conceptualization of proposed system, identifying areas to be mechanized and areas to be maintained manually;
  • Assisting in presentation of system proposal to user managers and higher management for confirmation.
