Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, and test data pipeline applications using cloud technologies.

This is a critical position in Asurion's data engineering team, requiring a strong understanding of database platforms, data integration, and cloud technologies.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Java, Python, Shell scripting, Informatica/Pentaho/Talend, Databricks, Apache Airflow, Presto, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Redshift, AWS cloud technologies, and Infrastructure as Code.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Designing and developing scalable, performant data solutions.
  • Leveraging expertise in database platforms, data integration, and cloud technologies.
  • Maintaining collaboration with architects, product owners, and leadership to ensure alignment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3+ years of overall database software development/data platform experience.
  • Hands-on experience with data integration tools such as Java, Python, Shell scripting, Informatica/Pentaho/Talend.
  • Experience developing applications using Python or Scala (or other languages).
  • Familiarity with database platforms such as SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Redshift.
  • Expertise in cloud technologies, including AWS S3, EMR, Hive, Lambda, Kinesis, Aurora, DynamoDB.
