We are a fast-growing digital bank seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Operations and Cloud Platform Engineer to lead our data operations and cloud platform initiatives.

Job Description

Data Operations and Engineering

  • Data Pipeline Optimization: Optimize and maintain data pipelines to ensure efficiency and scalability.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Big Data Environment Management: Oversee the management of big data environments (Hadoop, Spark) to support analytics and reporting.
  • Collaboration with Data Scientists: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to provide reliable data infrastructure.
Cloud Platform Management & Optimization

Cloud Infrastructure Design and Management: Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based data infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Cloud Security and Resource Management: Implement best practices for cloud security, cost optimization, and resource management.
  • Automation and Orchestration: Oversee the automation of infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Cloud Data Services Management: Manage and optimize cloud data services, including relational and NoSQL databases.
DevOps & Automation

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align cloud data solutions with business objectives.

  • CICD Pipeline Development: Lead CI/CD pipeline development for data workflows and cloud applications.
  • Scripting and Automation: Automate data processing and cloud infrastructure management using scripting languages (Python, Java, Scala).
  • Monitoring and Alerting: Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Containerized Deployment: Maintain a containerized deployment environment using Docker and Kubernetes for scalable data applications.
Governance, Compliance & Industry Best Practices

Regulatory Compliance and Industry Standards

  • Industry Trends and Emerging Technologies: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering, cloud computing, and DevOps.
  • Disaster Recovery and Backup Strategies: Develop strategies for disaster recovery, backup, and high availability of cloud-based data solutions.

Key Qualifications

  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Big Data Expertise: Expertise in big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and distributed computing frameworks.
  • Databases and Data Warehousing: Strong knowledge of relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases, as well as data warehousing solutions.
  • Cloud Platforms and Data Services: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
  • DevOps Principles and Automation: Strong understanding of DevOps principles and experience with automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Communication and Project Management Skills: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and deliver within deadlines.
