Senior Tax Officer

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, as well as providing guidance on tax matters to the organization. Key responsibilities include monitoring tax assessments, timely submission of required documents, and close coordination with tax authorities and/or consultants to successfully close tax audits or claim tax refunds.

In addition, the Senior Tax Officer will ensure that companies adhere to approved transfer pricing policies, complete necessary documentation and reconciliation in a timely and accurate manner to aid in the closure of tax audits, prepare replies to notice of discrepancies, preliminary assessment notice, and final assessment notice, execute tax health check activities, monitor tax issues, handle assessments from local government units, handle tax refunds, act as liaison to the BIR and external consultants.

The role also involves assisting in determining ways to maximize tax expenses by identifying opportunities for tax incentives, tax credits, and refunds, devising tax savings strategies, implementing strategies/controls to mitigate tax exposures noted by the tax authorities during audit, preparing monthly/quarterly analysis of income and expenses to determine which method of deduction would yield a lower taxable income and tax due, updating company tax manual, updating transfer pricing policy and ensuring adherence by the group, handling queries on tax implications of certain transactions, coordinating with tax compliance team on new issuances and its effect on the company tax status.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in accounting system (SAP and Netsuite)
  • Extensive knowledge on taxes and statutory reporting requirements
  • Up-to-date on BIR issuances and Court rulings
  • Ability to work under pressure and can adapt to changing paces in tax reporting requirements

  • Willing to be assigned in Ortigas, Pasig City
