We are seeking an Accountant to join our team.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced accountant to work with a climate tech company unlocking brine resources to provide essential raw materials to the battery industry. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering innovations to the mining sector, minimizing environmental impact and supporting the clean energy economy.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the month-end close through preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules on a timely basis.
  • Assist with consolidations, reviewing the company's domestic and foreign subsidiary financials, eliminations, and financial statement reports in NetSuite for external reporting compliance.
  • Manage the company's business travel and expense platform, ensuring policy compliance and accurate coding of all transactions.
  • Maintain the company's fixed asset subledger and propose fixed asset additions and disposals.
  • Analyze and provide commentary on monthly Balance Sheet and P&L account balances.
  • Assist with billing during month-end close and help ensure payments are processed timely and purchase order exceptions are resolved.
  • Interact cross-functionally with department managers (Finance, People, Legal, International) to support accounting team goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
  • Proficient understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting principles.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of General Ledger accounting experience, including account reconciliation and analysis.
  • Experience in month-end processes and proficiency with MS Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite and Coupa systems.
  • Ability to work in Pacific Time Zone hours.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Public accounting experience with a global firm.
  • Experience working with external audit firms.
  • International accounting experience, including consolidations and accounting for foreign currency transactions and gains/losses.
