Culinary Expert for Cafe Kitchen

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Paperback & Lattes. This role involves preparing, cooking, and plating food items according to our menu guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, and snack menu items according to established recipes. Ensure food is cooked to the correct temperature and in accordance with food safety standards.
  2. Menu and Recipe Adherence: Follow café's menu guidelines, ensuring consistency and presentation in all dishes. Prepare items such as sandwiches, salads, soups, pastries, and baked goods.
  3. Maintaining Cleanliness and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and work area at all times. Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  4. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels for ingredients and supplies. Assist in ordering ingredients and ensuring the kitchen is stocked with necessary items.
  5. Quality Control: Ensure that food items are cooked to the proper specifications and are visually appealing. Maintain consistency in the quality of food served to customers.

Requirements:

  1. Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen environment, particularly in cafes or restaurants, is preferred.
  2. Culinary Skills: Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment.
  3. Organization: Ability to handle multiple orders at once, prioritize tasks, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  4. Attention to Detail: Ensuring that food is presented according to the café's standards and recipes.
  5. Time Management: Ability to work efficiently and quickly in a busy environment without compromising quality.

Compensation: The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 per year, based on location and industry standards.
