Job Opportunity: Freelance Peer Reviewer

As a freelance peer reviewer, you will be responsible for assessing the quality and validity of research manuscripts submitted to academic journals.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess Novelty: evaluate whether the manuscript presents novel and significant findings that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
  • Evaluate Study Design and Methodology: assess the appropriateness, comprehensiveness, and clarity of the study design and methods used in the research.
  • Literature Review: ensure that the manuscript incorporates and cites relevant and up-to-date research in the field, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the subject matter.
  • Analyse Results and Conclusions: evaluate the presentation of results, conclusions, and recommendations, ensuring they are supported by the data and significant to the field.
  • Provide Constructive Feedback: provide detailed feedback suggesting improvements, highlighting flaws, omissions, or ethical concerns, and recommending publication based on your evaluation.

Key requirements include a doctorate (PhD/MD) or equivalent advanced degree in the relevant subject area, as well as prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals. Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems is also highly desirable.
