About the Role

Responsibilities
  • Lead major feature development and collaborate with designers to deliver high-quality features within the app.
  • Shape the direction of the Android team and contribute to strategic decision-making.
  • Own and improve key reliability metrics for critical features.
  • Participate in cross-team discussions on product, design, and engineering matters.
  • Review code contributions from colleagues and provide support as needed.
  • Address critical issues promptly and handle unexpected challenges effectively.
  • Oversee feature releases and ensure seamless delivery of nightly builds to the QA team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering, preferably in Android development.
  • Strong familiarity with Android components and architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
  • Excellent communication skills, a user-centric problem-solving approach, and ability to adapt quickly.
  • Experience with open-source projects in Android is a bonus, as is familiarity with iOS, Web, or NodeJS.
