Key IRS Specialist Role Overview

This role requires a detail-oriented and experienced specialist to obtain Employer Identification Numbers (EINs) from the IRS for newly formed companies.

The selected candidate will represent clients directly in communication with the IRS via phone, ensuring accurate and timely processing of their EIN requests.

  • Contacting the IRS: Daily calls to obtain EINs on behalf of clients during US business hours
  • Client Representation: Professional representation and compliance with IRS regulations
  • EIN Application Management: Tracking EIN applications, maintaining meticulous records of all interactions and documentation
  • Issue Resolution: Efficiently addressing any issues or follow-ups related to EIN acquisition
  • Collaboration: Working closely with internal teams to ensure client needs are met in a timely manner
  • ITIN Submission: Owning the internal process of submitting ITIN applications to a 3rd party vendor
  • Performance Reporting: Weekly reports on performance metrics (ITINs submitted, EINs extracted, Cases In progress, AVG extraction time)
Required Skills and Qualifications

For this role, we require:

  • Minimum Experience: 3+ years of experience working with the IRS on various cases, particularly involving EIN acquisition
  • Active Status: Active PTIN number, SSN number, or certification as a CAA (Certified Acceptance Agent) or EA (Enrolled Agent)
  • Strong Knowledge: A strong understanding of IRS procedures and compliance requirements
  • Excellent Communication: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to represent clients professionally
  • Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Time Zone Adaptability: Ability to work in the US timezone and manage daily IRS interactions effectively
