- Tax Compliance:
- Prepare Tax Returns: The Tax Analyst prepares and files federal, state, and local tax returns in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and completeness of tax returns, including income, sales, and property taxes.
- Maintain Compliance: The Tax Analyst stays current with changes in tax laws and regulations, implementing procedures to adhere to tax filing requirements and deadlines.
- Tax Reporting:
- Generate Reports: The Tax Analyst prepares detailed tax reports and schedules for management review and regulatory submissions, compiling and analyzing data required for tax filings and audits.
- Analyze Data: The Tax Analyst analyzes financial data to support tax reporting and ensure accurate tax calculations.
- Tax Planning and Strategy:
- Support Planning: The Tax Analyst assists in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities, evaluating the tax implications of business transactions and corporate structures.
- Conduct Research: The Tax Analyst performs research on tax issues and provides recommendations for tax-saving opportunities.
- Audit and Documentation:
- Prepare for Audits: The Tax Analyst assists with internal and external tax audits, providing necessary documentation and information, responding to audit inquiries, and resolving issues related to tax filings.
- Maintain Documentation: The Tax Analyst ensures thorough and organized documentation of all tax-related activities and correspondence.
- Compliance Monitoring:
- Review Transactions: The Tax Analyst monitors and reviews company transactions for compliance with tax laws and regulations, identifying potential tax issues and working with the Compliance Supervisor to address them.
- Process Improvement:
- Enhance Procedures: The Tax Analyst evaluates and recommends improvements to tax compliance and reporting processes, implementing best practices to streamline tax reporting and minimize errors.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Support Compliance Supervisor: The Tax Analyst provides support to the Compliance Supervisor with tax-related projects and initiatives, assisting in preparing materials for tax strategy meetings and compliance reviews.
- Coordinate with Other Departments: The Tax Analyst works with finance, legal, and other departments to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance.
- Risk Management:
- Identify Risks: The Tax Analyst assesses and identifies potential tax risks and liabilities, developing strategies to mitigate tax-related risks and ensure proper documentation.
