Writer-Editor Position

Cardinal Education is a leading education consulting company dedicated to helping students maximize their potential and achieve academic success.

We seek a highly skilled and motivated Writer-Editor who will play a key role in developing and enhancing written content for college applications, providing detailed feedback, and emphasizing clarity, style, and structure.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional English verbal and written skills, with a strong grasp of grammar and a portfolio that showcases their writing abilities. A background in English, Literature, Journalism, Education, or related fields is preferred, but not required. The successful candidate will be familiar with the college application process and have experience working on creative nonfiction writing projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing and Editing: Brainstorm with the College Admissions Team's Consultants about essay direction, provide feedback to students, and edit rough drafts to fix grammar, clarity, style, flow, structure, and word count.
  • Research: Research different topics to strengthen student work depending on their interests and profiles.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with team members on drafting, brainstorming, augmenting, and reviewing, especially on assignments with urgent deadlines.
  • Administration and Logistics: Manage administrative tasks associated with assignments, including communicating logistical needs, organizing send-outs, drafting email updates, scheduling review meetings, and preparing meeting notes.
  • Business Development: Contribute to team growth and company development during off-seasons.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional English verbal and written skills with a strong grip on grammar.
  • Graduated from a 4-year degree program in English, Literature, Journalism, Education, or related fields.
  • Experience working for an education consulting company specializing in college admissions is preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of three written samples showcasing writing and research skills.
  • Ability to edit and write skillfully without AI tools.
  • Availability to participate in an Internship Day before training.
