Software Engineering Leader

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineering Manager to lead our team in delivering exceptional gaming experiences on Ubuntu.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Team Leadership: Lead and manage a high-performing team of software engineers to optimize and expand the Ubuntu gaming experience.
  2. Project Management: Oversee project timelines, ensuring timely delivery of features while maintaining quality and performance standards.
  3. Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with upstream projects, partners, and stakeholders to align team work with company objectives.
  4. Code Review: Conduct thorough code reviews, focusing on quality, performance, and modern design principles.
  5. Community Engagement: Engage actively with the open source and gaming community to gather feedback and collaborate on improvements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in collaborating with upstream projects and partners.
  • Familiarity with the Linux graphics stack, including user-space components and low-level kernel drivers.
  • Exceptional software project management skills, including risk assessment and resource allocation.
  • Ability to balance technical leadership with effective team management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both internal and external interactions.
  • Strong planning skills, demonstrated by capacity to manage multi-cycle improvements.
