The Deferred Defects Engineer plays a pivotal role in maintaining our fleet's operational excellence and overall flying experience. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Ensuring all open ADD, CFI, and CDL items are complete, with thorough action and implementation plans in place for time-limited defects.
  2. Monitoring deferred defect items to guarantee timely closure or performance before due dates.
  3. Closely coordinating with Technical Purchasing to verify and order parts for MEL items, ensuring seamless processes.
  4. Liaising with CEB Technical Services and CEB PPE to obtain correct repair schematics for out-of-SRM and AMM repairs.
  5. Collaborating with LME Engineers or Defect Analyst Engineers to optimize scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, providing early advice on potential delays.
  6. Identifying fleet-wide cabin issues and escalating them to the Manager – DD for further action.
  7. Tracking and verifying proper implementation of cabin modifications by maintenance providers.
  8. Preparing part consumption reports for deferred defect items, including MEL, and submitting them to the Manager – DD.
  9. Providing technical support to other departments through prompt responses to queries.
  10. Actively participating in CEB SMS, ensuring compliance with safety and security laws, regulations, and standards, and reporting accidents, incidents, and hazards.
  11. Conducting regular spot checks and surveillance on cabin items, generating weekly cabin reports.
