About This Role

This position oversees the enhancement of gaming on Ubuntu, ensuring a premium user experience. The ideal candidate will lead a team in optimising and expanding gaming capabilities, focusing on Steam Snap.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage project timelines, striking a balance between feature improvements and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align your team's work with company objectives and other teams' goals.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with upstream projects and partners, driving innovation and growth.
  • Foster open communication with the open-source and gaming community, gathering feedback and implementing improvements.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a technical field or an impressive alternative narrative.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with upstream projects and partners.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Linux graphics stack, from user-space components to low-level kernel drivers.
  • Exceptional software project management skills, encompassing risk assessment and resource allocation.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and external interactions.
  • Prioritise planning and resource allocation, demonstrating adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Occasional travel required for company events and meetings.
