Medical Linguist

i-Call International is seeking a skilled Tagalog-English medical interpreter to facilitate communication between healthcare providers and patients.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Interpretation Services: Accurately interpret medical information, diagnoses, treatments, and other details between Tagalog-speaking patients and healthcare professionals.
2. Cultural Mediation: Provide cultural guidance to help patients navigate the healthcare system while assisting healthcare providers in understanding cultural differences that impact patient care.
3. Confidentiality and Ethics: Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to professional standards in interpretation.
4. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Document interpretation services, including date, time, duration, and type of interpretation.
5. Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest medical terminology and healthcare practices to ensure accurate interpretation.

Requirements:

1. Fluency in Tagalog and English.
2. Experience in interpretation or translation.
3. Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with the healthcare system.
4. Excellent communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and ability to work well under pressure.

Working Conditions: Minimum 5 hours between 9 am - 7 pm EST.

Compensation: $0.20 USD per minute of talk-time/call-time.
