Lead AI Engineer Role

This is a full-time, fully remote opportunity to join a team of innovators in the healthcare sector. As Lead AI Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting our AI-first future and transforming how millions access healthcare through intelligent automation.

You will work directly with the Head of Engineering and the CEO to build AI systems that deliver world-class healthcare at software scale. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic vision, requiring you to ship production AI while defining our long-term roadmap.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on AI and machine learning. Strong programming skills using Typescript and/or Python are also essential. Experience leading engineering team members and designing modern, customer-facing APIs are also desirable.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making healthcare radically more accessible through AI. If you can build LLM reliable LLM powered apps and want your work to directly impact people, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead our AI systems across the entire company, ensuring they are simple, reliable, and useful.
  • Drive AI adoption across our clinical operating system, automating manual processes and creating AI assistants that make our clinical team more effective.
  • Leverage AI to transform our conversion funnel from personalized outreach sequences to AI sales agents that close deals.
  • Be genuinely obsessed with data, studying our datasets to identify AI opportunities and building lightweight MVPs in days not months.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with AI/ML infrastructure, including vector databases, embedding models, and orchestration frameworks.
  • Built evaluation and monitoring systems for LLM applications in production.
  • Built large-scale data pipelines and distributed systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) at enterprise scale.
  • CS degree or equivalent experience.
