As a key member of our dynamic API team, we are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and reliable API solutions.

Job Description:

  • Develop scalable, reliable, and high-performance APIs as part of the API team.
  • Contribute to system scoping, drafting technical specifications, and conducting code reviews.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for backend infrastructure with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Design and implement robust test cases for new APIs and integration capabilities.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster knowledge sharing through code reviews and technical sessions.
  • Troubleshoot production issues across various services and infrastructure layers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in backend software development, with a strong focus on public-facing API products.
  • Deep knowledge of full-stack technologies required to build and run APIs; experience with FastAPI is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in RESTful API design and implementation, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
  • Proven experience with microservices architecture and event-based technologies such as webhooks.
  • Applied AI tools and technologies in API development and integration workflows.
  • Proficient in SQL and advanced database design, with strong skills in performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, New Relic, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD methodologies and practical experience in pipeline automation.
  • Strong experience working with AWS, particularly services like API Gateway, Lambda, and the Serverless Stack.
  • Familiarity with agile software development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
