We are seeking a skilled Software Development Expert for Java Runtimes, tooling, and ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality Java runtimes and supporting tooling in Ubuntu.
  • Select, integrate, and package best-of-breed tooling with Ubuntu to enhance developer and operator experience with Java Runtimes, frameworks, and applications.
  • Write efficient and scalable code to create new features and resolve complex issues, producing reliable solutions.
  • Review code produced by other engineers and engage in discussions to collaborate on finding effective solutions.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience with Java Runtimes and its ecosystem, preferably in cloud-native software and Linux environments.
  • Experience in packaging software for Debian and Ubuntu is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical field or a compelling narrative about an alternative chosen path.
