Senior Accounting Professional

As a highly skilled Senior Accounting professional, you will be responsible for delivering advanced accounting services and overseeing financial management across UK-based accounting firms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review comprehensive financial statements, management accounts, and cash flow forecasts to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Ensure adherence to UK GAAP and regulatory standards in all financial dealings.
  • Support year-end financial reporting and audit processes to guarantee seamless compliance.
  • Oversee VAT return preparation and submission processes to optimize efficiency.
  • Manage corporate tax filings and assist clients with strategic tax planning to minimize liabilities.
  • Supervise and mentor junior and intermediate accountants to enhance team performance and skills.
  • Review and validate the accuracy of team deliverables, including reconciliations, reports, and journal entries to maintain high-quality outputs.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to improve team efficiency and knowledge.
  • Manage payroll processing for clients, ensuring precision in PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions.
  • Utilize payroll software to process and reconcile payroll data efficiently.
  • Identify areas of improvement in accounting workflows and recommend enhancements to streamline operations.
  • Leverage automation tools and best practices to boost accuracy and productivity.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and providing strategic advice to drive business growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to foster satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a reputable institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including extensive work with UK clients or firms.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Dext.
  • Experience with payroll systems like BrightPay, Gusto, or similar tools.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and mentoring teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and home office setup.
Preferred but Not Required:
  • Familiarity with tools for financial insights and analytics.
  • Experience managing books for multiple industries.
  • Advanced tax advisory and planning experience.
