Job Title: Chief Data Compliance Officer

Job Description:
The role of the Privacy Specialist is critical in ensuring the organization's compliance with data privacy laws and regulations. This individual will work closely with various teams to oversee data protection practices, conduct Privacy Impact Assessments, and monitor identified risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the completion of PIAs for new projects, products, and services, identifying potential risks and recommending mitigations to ensure compliant data handling practices.
  • Oversee the process of handling data subject exercise of rights and access requests, ensuring timely and compliant responses.
  • Act as the first responder to data breaches and other privacy incidents, leading investigations, coordinating with legal and other relevant teams.
  • Maintain an up-to-date record of processing activities, documenting the types of data processed, the purpose of processing, and associated risks.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in data privacy, or related field, preferably in the financial services or technology sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing privacy programs and responding to data privacy incidents.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working with legal, IT, and business units to ensure privacy compliance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork ethic and organizational skills.
  • Pro-active/result-oriented work ethic.
