Job Description

The Actuarial Analyst will be responsible for collecting, organizing, interpreting, analyzing, scrubbing, documenting, and disseminating complex data sets. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data collection systems and strategies that optimize efficiency and data quality.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Filter and scrub data, and review reports and indicators to locate and correct code problems.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, SQL, and Python.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets.
  • Experience with reporting packages and databases.
  • Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as actuarial science, statistics, computer science, mathematics, economics, or operations research.
  • 2 to 5 years of casualty actuarial work experience.
