Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Tax Accountant to join our team. This is a full-time position that requires Australian taxation and accounting expertise.

The ideal candidate will have strong working experience with Xero, XPM, and other various accounting systems.

The role involves reviewing financial data, preparing annual financial statements for various entity structures, and completing annual tax returns within business timeframes.

The successful candidate will also assist with bookkeeping duties and BAS lodgment (where required), possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be highly organized and self-motivated.

We're looking for someone who values structure, is dependable, and thrives in a role that provides consistency and clarity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review financial data and ensure accuracy of coding
  • Prepare annual financial statements for various entity structures
  • Complete annual tax returns within business timeframes
  • Assist with bookkeeping duties and BAS lodgment (where required)

Requirements:

  • Australian taxation and accounting experience is required
  • 6 years experience with a public practice/accounting firm offering Australian taxation services is required
  • Knowledge and experience in accounting for companies, partnerships and trusts, including preparation of financial statements and annual tax returns
  • Xero Certification is required
  • Sound understanding of the Australian GST system (including BAS and IAS)
  • Preferably with Office 365, Karbon, and SuperMate experience
