Software Engineering Innovator

The ideal candidate will be a talented software engineer who is passionate about developing innovative solutions using Rust. This role involves designing and implementing well-tested and well-documented software in Rust, advocating for Rust adoption in Canonical and upstream projects, identifying projects and codebases that could be prioritized for Rust adoption, debugging and fixing issues encountered by users, participating in engineering processes through code and architectural reviews, collaborating with the community and colleagues on technical specifications, seeking improvements to engineering and operations practices, and contributing to the success of their product through technical advocacy.

Job Description:
  • Design and implement high-quality software in Rust.
  • Advocate for Rust adoption across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities for Rust adoption in various projects and codebases.
  • Debug and resolve user-encountered issues.
  • Collaborate with engineers and the community on technical specifications.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of Rust programming language.

  • Experience with Linux at the system level.
