Solar System Designer Role Overview

The Solar System Designer is a crucial role that ensures solar designs meet customer needs, policies, and local regulations.

Key responsibilities include designing and constructing solar electric systems, as well as working knowledge of residential electrical and roofing standards.

The ideal candidate will use aerial imagery and web-based software to create 3D models of homes and their surroundings, generating custom proposals that showcase the expected panel layout and solar production of the system.

This position supports the sales team in successfully acquiring new customers by ensuring solar designs align with customer preferences and company policies.

  • Collaborate with Sales and Install Operations teams to ensure solar designs meet customer expectations.
  • Utilize aerial imagery and web-based software to create 3D models of homes and their surroundings.
  • Develop custom proposals showcasing the expected panel layout and solar production of the system.

Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or Equivalent, experience with designing and/or constructing solar electric systems, and a working knowledge of residential electrical and roofing standards.

Aurora software experience and NABCEP certification are preferred but not required.
