Medical Documenter Position

The primary objective of this role is to assist medical professionals in documenting clinical interactions in real-time. This requires accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring that patient records are up-to-date and comprehensive.

This is a key aspect of the healthcare industry, as it enables medical providers to focus on delivering quality care rather than spending excessive time on documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Documenting patient encounters during consultations using electronic medical records (EMRs) such as Epic or Cerner.
  • Accurately capturing patient information, including histories, physical exam findings, diagnostic impressions, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
  • Maintaining charts, medication lists, allergies, and problem lists while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks such as templating notes and handling visit summaries.
  • Providing context for current visits by reviewing prior records.
  • Communicating effectively with providers to clarify and ensure accurate documentation.
Requirements:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in a clinical documentation role or as a medical scribe.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical workflows.
  • A degree in a healthcare-related field is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with EMRs like Epic or Cerner is beneficial.
  • HIPAA Certification is advantageous.
  • Fast and accurate typing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Organized and focused work habits.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights.
