Desegregation Expert for Roma Children

We are seeking a seasoned professional to support the desegregation of Roma children in education.

This project aims to strengthen authorities' capacity and stakeholders at all levels to implement desegregation of Roma children in education and monitor elimination and prevention of segregation in schools.

The expected impact includes providing high-quality education for Roma children, promoting inclusion and respect for diversity, and eliminating prejudices and stereotypes against Roma children in the education system.

A consultancy is required to develop resources and assist with review, analysis, and capacity building activities.

Deliverables include an EU/international review of good practices in addressing education segregation, development of a capacity building toolkit, and support for the draft National Roma Education Desegregation Action Plan.

  • Conduct a review of good practices in addressing education segregation specifically for Roma children and promote inclusive education.
  • Develop a toolkit for capacity building of regional and national stakeholders.
  • Provide technical expertise to project activities and revise the research plan for monitoring Roma education segregation.
  • Support presentation of project deliverables and participate in events.

To qualify for this role, you will need an advanced degree in international development, human rights, education, or a relevant social science field.

You must have at least ten years of professional work experience in education, inclusive education, or inclusion of vulnerable groups in education.

Good knowledge of international and regional frameworks in inclusive education, including Roma inclusion, is an asset.

Fluent written and spoken English, excellent communication and presentation skills, and flexibility are required.
