Job Title: Surveillance Specialist

The role of a Surveillance Specialist is pivotal in ensuring the security and safety of all monitored premises.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor live feeds from multiple facilities to maintain a secure environment.
Exercise disciplinary action as required, subject to approval from senior authorities.
Document unauthorized staff departures and address clocking issues promptly.
Manage access for staff and authorized visitors at high-security sites.
Evaluate situations such as theft, physical altercations, medical emergencies, or behavioral incidents and take appropriate action.
Track designated areas including medication carts, cash drawers, and food supply rooms.
Coordinate replacement staff when on-duty personnel are absent or fail to report.
Maintain an accurate daily security log documenting incidents, observations, and enforcement actions.
Alert supervisors and administrators immediately upon identifying suspected abuse, neglect, theft, or policy violations.

Duties Beyond Scheduled Hours:

Collaborate with supervisors on work-related tasks as needed, demonstrating initiative where possible.
Stay informed and compliant with relevant regulations and standards, including COMAR, CARF, and other governing bodies, as well as company policies.
Prioritize a safe working environment by participating in drills and safety training sessions as required.
Ensure confidentiality of sensitive records, particularly those related to client treatment or financial information.
Participate in external and internal audits/surveys (CARF/CSA/OHCQ) as directed by supervisors.
Contribute to quality assurance and performance improvement plans by conducting audits and activities that ensure regulatory compliance.
Respond promptly to after-hours alerts or calls to verify and investigate security-related issues.
Assist with implementing new monitoring tools or upgrading surveillance systems.
Participate in periodic drills or simulations of emergency response procedures.
Test access control systems, cameras, and communication lines to ensure reliability.
