Jewelry Production Management Role

Job Summary:

The Jewelry Production Manager oversees the entire manufacturing and production process of fine or fashion jewelry.

This position requires a strong background in jewelry making, vendor coordination, materials sourcing, and production workflow management.

  • Oversee daily production operations, ensuring quality control and timely order fulfillment.
  • Manage production schedules, allocate workloads, and track progress across internal teams and external manufacturers.
  • Coordinate with designers, CAD teams, bench jewelers, casters, and stone setters to bring designs to life.
  • Source and manage relationships with material suppliers and subcontractors (casting, polishing, plating, etc.).
  • Maintain detailed production documentation including BOMs (Bill of Materials), cost sheets, and timelines.
  • Implement and enforce quality control standards across all stages of production.
  • Forecast inventory needs and ensure all necessary materials (metals, stones, findings) are procured on time.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, minimize delays, and optimize efficiency and cost.
  • Collaborate with sales, merchandising, and logistics teams to align production with customer demand and seasonal launches.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in jewelry production or manufacturing management.
  • Strong knowledge of jewelry materials, processes (casting, stone setting, polishing), and supply chain.
  • Familiar with CAD/CAM and jewelry design software.
  • Strong vendor and supplier management experience.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for craftsmanship and quality.
  • Experience communicating with the factory.
  • Understanding how to read a CAD.
  • Knowledge in Diamonds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule production deadlines and set realistic milestones.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Create detailed reports on production progress, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
  • Design and implement efficient production workflows.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management and ordering of necessary materials.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising product quality.
