Patient Service Representative Job Description

As a Patient Service Representative, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to patients over the phone, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and maintaining accurate patient records within our electronic health record system.

In this position, you will greet callers professionally and address their needs promptly. You will schedule primary care appointments, including annual exams, chronic care follow-ups, acute visits, and preventive screenings. Additionally, you will verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, including co-pays, deductibles, and network status.

You will maintain and update patient records accurately in our electronic health record system and assist with patient portal setup and troubleshooting. Collaboration with clinical staff is also essential to ensure smooth patient flow and timely care delivery.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in family medicine or internal medicine. Proficiency in our electronic health record system, including scheduling, documentation, and patient communication features, is also required.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual with strong knowledge of primary care visit types, referral processes, and insurance requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for this role, as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
