Job Overview

This senior accounting role is ideal for a seasoned tax professional seeking a challenging opportunity to utilize their expertise in US tax returns and payroll processing.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and a strong understanding of US tax laws, payroll processes, and accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file accurate and timely US federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Manage payroll processing and prepare detailed payroll returns.
  • Maintain and update financial records using QBO, performing general bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions and reconciling accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
  • Stay updated with changes in US tax laws and payroll regulations.
  • Provide support during audits and liaise with external auditors as needed.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of financial information.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in preparing US tax returns and payroll returns.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and other accounting software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
